TAV

High-Speed Train

TAV SpA, short for Treno Alta Velocità (High-Speed Train), was established as a public-private company with the aim of coordinating the construction of railway infrastructure and the operation of high-speed trains in Italy. Part of the Ferrovie dello Stato group, it has historically been the technological engine behind the modernisation and rail connectivity of the country.

Brand design. The sign of speed

The rebranding carried out by Inarea between 1991 and 1997 translated this mission into an iconic identity. The logo draws inspiration from the shape of the train pantograph, distilled into dynamic geometric marks that suggest speed. Bringing in the colours of the Italian flag raises the project to a national symbol, defining a solid and coherent system of institutional communication.

Editorial design. The architecture of the page

The brand languages find expression in editorial communication with minimal elegance, as in the volumes on the eco-balance. White space and evocative images create a harmonious dialogue between technology and territory. Visual communication sets out to tell a story of sustainability through a carefully crafted layout, where the rigour of the design becomes an expression of credibility and institutional standing, as well as a lever for consensus.
