The Piedmont Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1986 with the aim of supporting oncology research through the Candiolo Institute, a center of international excellence. Da quasi quarant’anni promuove innovazione scientifica, cura e solidarietà, unendo la comunità piemontese nella lotta contro il cancro.
Naming. A single denomination
In the Foundation’s evolutionary journey, the naming theme represents a crucial moment of synthesis and strategic vision. After nearly four decades of activity, there was a need to simplify, make the connection between the two entities immediate, and enhance the evocative power of “Candiolo,” a name that has now become a symbol of excellence in cancer research and treatment. The naming project therefore proposes to transform Candiolo from a simple toponym into a brand becoming a horizon of meaning, a name that embodies trust, commitment and innovation. This choice allows for the naming of the Foundation and the Institute to be standardized, simplifying communication and strengthening the overall recognizability of the system.
Brand Identity. From place to logos
The Foundation’s new brand identity is the result of a broad process of listening and reflection, involving institutional figures, researchers, and supporters. The need emerged to develop an image capable of representing the Foundation’s evolving autonomy, without losing its historical recognizability. The new logo reflects this balance: a brand that combines memory and future, roots and momentum. The logo, simple and contemporary, where simplicity becomes value, expresses transparency, trust, and accessibility, communicating the human dimension of science and the ability of a region to transform solidarity into innovation.
