The CSC (Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia) is one of the pillars of Italian culture, playing a key role in the audiovisual sector, education, and film research. It safeguards and promotes Italy’s national cinematic heritage, providing learning and innovation tools for new generations while preserving a cultural legacy of immense value.
Brand Identity. Forward-Looking Tradition
The CSC rebranding, unveiled on the occasion of its 90th anniversary, aims to unite history and modernity by simplifying the communication of its diverse activities. This new profile positions the Center as a bridge between memory and innovation, highlighting the natural affinity between cinematic tradition and a vision for the future. Its core values are experimentation, excellence, openness to change, and the ability to inspire new generations.
The Commemorative Mark
Ninety years of history constitute an important heritage to be passed on. At the same time, they represent a significant opportunity to shape future programs. Within this framework, the new brand appeared in association with references to 1935 and 2025, in a visual combination that originally generates the reading of the number 90.
Brand Design. Between History and Experimentation
The logo features a simple composition: two Cs separated by a screen-like rectangle that houses a dynamic S. The movement of the S symbolizes the experimentation and vitality of the “seventh art,” while the clear graphic structure facilitates the institution’s identification. This detail evokes the idea of a “passage” between history and the future—a theme that reappears in the reconstituted version of the logotype, reinforcing consistency and brand recognition. The logo’s versatility allows the central rectangle to host diverse content, from photography to moving images, as well as potential applications in signage and wayfinding systems for events or physical spaces.
